July Newsletter

This month's newsletter is very short, so I am dispensing with the list of officers, etc.

Notes from Jim's Loft July 2007.

It seems as if summer has arrived and EAA is fast approaching. Just in case you are looking for what Forums there will be at EAA, I had a little problem finding them on the WEB site. Go to EAA website, then click on Experience it, then click on Forums and then Schedule. This should get you all confused. Looks as if camping is $19.00 per day and a couple of the high lights are the F22 and U2 plus all the other interesting things.

While down in Bartlesville, OK for the National Biplane Flyin we heard of Woolaroc, and decided to check it out. It is located 12 miles south of Bartlesville. It was built by Frank Phillips. What started as a hanger for the Woolaroc airplane has expanded into a very large museum, with 10 rooms of cultural art, sculptures, Indian artifacts from all ages and an unbelievable collection of guns. Also there is a 3700 acre preserve with two lakes and herds of wild animals that roam the ranch. You can look it up on www.woollaroc.org <http://www.woollaroc.org> for more info. If you ever get in the area I strongly suggest that you take it in.

We had a nice turn out for the hamburger fry, thanks to Walt, Bev and Leonard. We did not hold a meeting as there wasn't anything to bring up that couldn't wait until this coming meeting.

I received a check in the amount of $100.00 from Bill and Carolyn Osnowitz in memory of Lee Porter. The check was a contribution to the EAA Foundation, so I forwarded it on to EAA. Bill and Carolyn were close friends of Lee and Flo.

I believe we will go to the Goose Berry Patch again this month for dinner, at 5:45 PM. Then to the meeting at 7:15 PM. See ya on July 11. Jim P.

This note from Leonard on dues: Now that July 1 has passed, dues are now $20.00 per year.
